Today, Jerry Manuel also confirmed that Carlos Beltran could begin taking part in minor league games within a week. He will likely start out in a DH role, then slowly progress to playing the field for a complete game. For the full ESPN New York story, click here

According to Craig Carton of WFAN, Beltran said he is currently running at about 80% and hopes to begin playing in extended spring training games this week.

IF true, this is good news. I could not make that IF big enough. Beltran adds depth to a line-up that is erratic to say the least. He could also allow for a platoon in RF, with Pagan and Francoeur. Bottom Line - I'll believe it when I see #15 at Citi Field.
