Jenrry Mejia Sent down
In a move that many Mets fans have been hoping and waiting for, Jenrry Mejia has been sent down to AA Binghampton to resume his work on eventually becoming a starter. The corresponding roster move will be for the Mets to call up Bobby Parnell and add him to the bullpen.
It took waaaay too long for this to happen, but I'm glad that if finally did!
John Maine update
John Maine has been on a rehab assignment in the minors. However, it seems as though his arm is still an issue (or a way for the Mets to keep him out of the rotation). He will visit the doctor again today to have his arm rexamined. Omar Minaya even said that they may shut Maine down for a while to rest. The Mets are in a tough spot because they don't really have a spot for him in the rotation, unless they want to move Takahashi to the bullpen. Certainly Dickey is not a candidate as he is currently 5-0 and pitchign well. Stay tuned
All Star Game
Be sure to vote for your favorite Mets in the All Star Voting. As of late last week, David Wright (12 HRs, 53 RBIs, .283 BA) trailed Placido Polanco (5 HRs, 25 RBIs, .313 BA) for the starting 3B spot. Do NOT let an inferior Phillies player beat out #5. Go here to vote for D Wright.
