Tonight at 7:10 pm the Mets welcome in the Detroit Tigers to Citi Field. The Mets are coming off an impressive 7-2 road trip and look to continue their great play at home. The Tigers (38-30) have won 8 of their last 10, as have the Mets.
The Mets will have rookie Jonathon Niese RHP (4-2, 3.64 era) on the mound tonight. In his last start, at Cleveland, Niese went 7.0 innings and allowed 3 runs, earning a victory. For the Tigers, it will be Justin Verlander RHP (8-4, 3.54 era). Verlander went 8.0 innings against the Nationals and allowed 3 runs, picking up the win.
There is a decent chance for rain tonight. The forcast calls for a 50%-75% chance of rain after 8pm. So if you are headed to the game, take an umbrella!
