The Mets completed their 9 game road trip with consecutive losses to the New York Yankees, as they dropped the rubber game today 4-0. Overall, it was a successful road trip, as the Mets went 7-2. They currently sit 2.5 games behind the Atlanta Braves, who have won 5 straight.
Slick Hits
- Johan Santana did not have his best 'stuff' today. The only damage, however, came on a grand slam by Mark Teixeira.
- The Mets didn't hit very much today, as they could manage on 4 hits off of Sabathia, who went 8.0 shutout innings before a brief rain delay.
- The Subway Series ended up 3-3 for 2010.
The Mets are off tomorrow, but will start a 6 game home stand Tuesday night against the Detroit Tigers.
If you told me before the road trip started that the Mets would go 7-2, I would've taken it. It was just disappointing to lose the series to the Yankees after winning the first game and having Big Pelf and Santana for the 2nd and 3rd games. Back home and time to start another winning streak!
