Post Game Wrap up - Mets Win 5-0!!

Another home game, another win for the Amazins. The New York Mets defeated the Detroit Tigers tonight by a score of 5-0. The Mets win combined with the Braves loss, pulled the Mets to within 1/2 a game of the NL East lead. The Mets got a superb pitching effort from R.A. Dickey tonight, as he went 8.0 innings, allowing 4 hits and no runs. Jose Reyes was the engine again for the Mets offense, giving them an early lead and coming a double short of the cycle.

Slick Hits
- Reyes is on fire, as he went 3 for 4 with 3 runs scored and 1 RBI (solo HR)
- Ike Davis was 2 for 4 with a big 2 RBI hit in the 7th to break the game open
- Angel Pagan left the game for a pinch hitter in the 7th because of muscle spasms. He is expected to have tomorrow off, but the prognosis is that he should be back Friday.
- Dickey was great and probably wanted to go out for the 9th. However, Jerry Manuel felt KRod needed work, so he came on for a fairly stress free 9th inning.

The Mets continue to play well at home and keep winning. They are now 11 games over .500 and look for the sweep of the Tigers tomorrow night at Citi. Dickey has been unbelievable as he improved his record to 6-0 and lowered his ERA to 2.33. What a pleasant surprise.
